My Critic
(Sonnet)
Some people sometimes criticize my poetry
Saying, it smacks too much of sentimental tone
Some don’t like poems on love, death and divinity
Say, I am living in times long by-gone
But are not emotions universal, expressed by me!
Isn’t love eternal! Love-poem in all ages praised!
Do not men fear death and always seek God’s mercy!
And do not rhyme and rhythm keep the mind amazed!
If feelings of love, death and theology are now outdated
Heart no more the various senses guide
Men don’t pray to Him, Who this world created
And current whims only, a poem’s charm decide
Then let my poetry wait, till new beings take birth
Feelings of love, death and divinity reappear on the ear
