That, which was conveyed
By a pair of unnamed eyes
At the time of parting,
Remains transfixed in my consciousness
Till to-day,
As if a knot has been formed in the string of pearls
So that, whenever I roll my fingers over them,
They stop at that very point;
As if a butterfly has been enbalmed
In an icy rock,
As if the sounds of an approaching foot-step
Have permanently stopped.
Although I wanted to say,
O mysterious one!
Open the knot of your heart at least for one moment.
Melt this icy rock,
Say some thing with a smile at least once,
But the citadels of my imagination
Broke down before they arose
And the hint of your unnamed eyes
Have remained undiscovered till to-day.
