Seeing the sun going down,
I have also increased the pace of my walking.
I have left the royal road
And taken this untouched, narrow path.
People may take me for a fool
And laugh at me
That I have filled my coffers with pebbles,
leaving aside diamonds and rubies.
But what do I care for these matters now.
He, who is out to measure the depth of the ocean,
Does not count the waves.
Let them say what they like,
I have to be true to myself alone.
