How helpless am I,
That I cannot move a single step without your help,
Cannot utter a single word without your wish?
Sometimes, I think,
You might be similarly helpless yourself;
There might be someone else
Who rules over you
As you are ruling over me.
How, otherwise,
In spite of seeing me in such a great distress,
You are keeping silent,
Wearing the crown of diamonds and rubies
On your head,
Sitting dispassionately on your peacock-throne.
There must be some reason for your silence
Which you don’t want to tell me,
That although you watch me from a distance,
You never come near me.
