How did it happen
That your smiling, uninhibited face,
All of a sudden, bent down in modesty,
And my heart,
Like a flower, broken from the stem,
Touched your feet, washed with moon-light.
When did the rosy hue of dawn
Spring up in the blueness of the sky,
I do not know.
Did it happen at the moment
When I had removed the dust-particles from your eyes
By repeated blowings ?
Or at the time
When you had torn your silken garment
To wrap my bleeding finger ?
When did we come so close to each other
That I started to see my shadow
In the mirror of your consciousness
And began to hear the beatings of your heart
In my heart-beats ?
At that moment,
We felt as if we had lost some thing
Although, we could not understand
What had happened all of a sudden.
As a matter of fact,
There are some moments
When we get every thing
Without getting any thing
And lose every thing
Without losing any thing.
Oh! how did it happen
That your smiling, uninhibited face
Bent down in modesty
And my heart,
Like a flower, broken from the stem,
Touched your feet, washed with moon-light.
